I used this by setting it up at both ends of the room entrance or at both ends of the bed. I used it for about six months, but it became unnecessary and has been stored in a cool, dark place since then.
Upon checking before listing, the infrared transmission, sensors, and speaker all operated. However, as it has been about 6 years, I cannot guarantee that its original performance is maintained. It is being sold strictly as a junk item.
